Werner Herzog's Rogue Film School

SUBJECT: Werner Herzog's Rogue Film School

excerpt from website at www.roguefilmschool.com:

  1. The Rogue Film School will be in the form of weekend seminars held by Werner Herzog in person at varying locations and at infrequent intervals.

  2. The number of participants will be limited.

  3. Locations and dates will be announced on this website and Werner Herzog's website: www.wernerherzog.com approximately 12 weeks in advance.

  4. The Rogue Film School will not teach anything technical related to film-making. For this purpose, please enroll at your local film school.

  5. The Rogue Film School is about a way of life. It is about a climate, the excitement that makes film possible. It will be about poetry, films, music, images, literature.

  6. The focus of the seminars will be a dialogue with Werner Herzog, in which the participants will have their voice with their projects, their questions, their aspirations.

  7. Excerpts of films will be discussed, which could include your submitted films; they may be shown and discussed as well. Depending on the materials, the attention will revolve around essential questions: how does music function in film? How do you narrate a story? (This will certainly depart from the brainless teachings of three-act-screenplays). How do you sensitize an audience? How is space created and understood by an audience? How do you produce and edit a film? How do you create illumination and an ecstasy of truth?

  8. Related, but more practical subjects, will be the art of lockpicking. Traveling on foot. The exhilaration of being shot at unsuccessfully. The athletic side of filmmaking. The creation of your own shooting permits. The neutralization of bureaucracy. Guerrilla tactics. Self reliance.

  9. Censorship will be enforced. There will be no talk of shamans, of yoga classes, nutritional values, herbal teas, discovering your Boundaries, and Inner Growth.

  10. Related, but more reflective, will be a reading list: if possible, read Virgil's "Georgics", read "Hemingway's "The short happy life of Francis Macomber", The Poetic Edda, translated by Lee M. Hollander (in particular the Prophecy of the Seeress), Bernal Diaz del Castillo "True History of the Conquest of New Spain".

  11. Follow your vision. Form secretive Rogue Cells everywhere. At the same time, be not afraid of solitude.

VERDICT: Thank God for people like this.  Just reading the list of requirements makes me want to go there.

Remember people, it's ESSENTIAL to know how to say No!  If you don't stand up for something, you'll fall for anything.  bla bla bla.

Supreme Court Removes Limits on Corporate Donations to Campaigns

"In a stunning reversal of the nation's federal campaign finance laws, the Supreme Court ruled 5-4 Thursday that free-speech rights permit groups like corporations and labor unions to directly spend on political campaigns, prompting the White House to pledge "forceful" action to undercut the decision."

Corporate Personhood Should Be Banned, Once and For All

by Ralph Nader

"Today’s decision by the U.S. Supreme Court in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission shreds the fabric of our already weakened democracy by allowing corporations to more completely dominate our corrupted electoral process. It is outrageous that corporations already attempt to influence or bribe our political candidates through their political action committees (PACs), which solicit employees and shareholders for donations. With this decision, corporations can now also draw on their corporate treasuries and pour vast amounts of corporate money, through independent expenditures, into the electoral swamp already flooded with corporate campaign PAC contribution dollars.

This corporatist, anti-voter decision is so extreme that it should galvanize a grassroots effort to enact a Constitutional Amendment to once and for all end corporate personhood and curtail the corrosive impact of big money on politics. It is indeed time for a Constitutional amendment to prevent corporate campaign contributions from commercializing our elections and drowning out the civic and political voices and values of citizens and voters. It is way overdue to overthrow “King Corporation” and restore the sovereignty of “We the People”!"

!!! ORGONITE batch#1 !!!

SUBJECT: Orgonite -- a 50/50 mix of resin and metal bits that gives off an electromagnetic force field of pure energy similiar to what has been called prana, ch'i, kundalini, The Force, and many other names in other times and places.

"Orgone" was named by Wilhelm Reich who died in prison after having his books burned and his orgone accumulation devices outlawed and destroyed..  in the United States!  Just last century!

What could this stuff be doing that's such a threat?  Was it Reich's demonstrations of curing cancer and other diseases sans medications of any kind?  Was it his demonstrations of changing weather patterns with it?

We here at Globally Weird decided to whip up a batch and see for ourselves or feel for ourselves, as the case may be.

[click orgonite for a brief history kudos Georg at orgoniseafrica.com]

EXPERIMENT:  500g resin, three beer cans chopped to little bits, two plastic cheese containers, one twisted copper mobius coil, one chunk of amethyst.  Mix up and station for duty.

Here are two handy rooftop antenna arrays located just nearby, ready and waiting for the test case.

Here's the orgonite, pre and post cheese container.

VERDICT:  The pictures speak for themselves.  Nature is infinite and bountiful, we just need to be there to enjoy it.

Here's a little bird's nest I came across on my little trip.  Notice the walnuts all over the ground below.

Here's the walnut tree.  There are TONS of walnuts on the ground underneath it.

I felt so good coming home, it was as if the other trees were waving at me.

Stay tuned for more surprises on the next gifting trip!
